Force - a vector physical quantity that measures the physical interactions between bodies.

The SI unit of force is the newton [N]. The name of this unit comes from the name of the eminent physicist Isaac Newton.
In the weight system, the unit of force is kilogram-force [kgf] [1] (or [kG], otherwise kilopond [kp]).

Strength is 1 N if it gives a body mass 1 kg acceleration 1 m/s².

Force:
$$\vec{F} = m · \vec{a}$$

The second law of dynamics:
If the forces acting on the body do not balance each other (i.e. the resultant of forces $\vec{F}_{w}$ is different from zero), then the body moves with acceleration directly proportional to the resultant force, and inversely proportional to the weight of the body.

Acceleration:
$$\vec{a} = \frac{\vec{F}}{m}$$

Mass:
$$m = \frac{\vec{F}}{\vec{a}}$$

Examples:
1. How much force is needed to accelerate an object of mass 3 kg to 8 m/s²?

Data:
m = 3 kg
a = 8 m/s²

$$F = 3 · 8$$ $$F = 24$$

To accelerate an object weighing 3 kg to 8 m/s ² we need to use a force of 24 N.

2. What acceleration will an object weighing 15 kg be if we apply a force of 120 N to it?

Data:
F = 120 N
m = 15 kg

$$a = \frac{120}{15}$$ $$a = 8 $$
